What to Expect at Your First Visit

The evaluation
About an hour, with an ultrasound look at the structure in question. We decide together whether PRP, PRF or neither is reasonable.

The blood draw
On the procedure day a small sample is taken in the office, exactly as for a routine blood test, then spun while you wait.

The placement
The area is cleaned and numbed at the skin, the target is confirmed on ultrasound, and the preparation is placed. This part takes a few minutes.

The first week
Expect soreness. We ask you to keep moving gently and to avoid heavy loading of the area for a defined period, which we write down.

The review
We compare your measurements at the agreed review date and decide whether a repeat placement is warranted or whether a different approach is.

For a full tendon tear, surgery is the treatment and an injection is not. That distinction is made on examination and imaging, before anything is booked.
Cortisone still has a role in short-term control of a bad flare. We do not offer it here, and we will say when it is the more sensible next step.
